I'm a senior digital executive with 20+ years building businesses at the intersection of product, technology, data, and marketing. I partner with companies that need experienced leadership — without the overhead of a full-time C-suite hire.
I work with companies — often PE-backed, mid-market, or in transition — that need senior digital leadership on a fractional or interim basis. My background spans the full stack of digital business: from writing code at IAC to running $80mm IT budgets as a Section 16 corporate officer.
That breadth means I can step in across multiple functions simultaneously, rather than handing you a strategy deck and disappearing.
He is one of the most visionary, aggressive and well-spoken executives I've come across. Add to that a passion and brilliance for product and technology — and you get the complete package. Phillip can be demanding and tough, but he's always fair and pushes his teams to achieve what they didn't think was possible.
I got the feeling that he was a very smart, strategic, objective and visionary leader. I was absolutely right about that. Phillip was very strategic in multiple ways to align the organization to perform better as well as initiating many technical directions including cloud and machine learning.
Phillip is one of the most dynamic leaders I have worked for during my career. He empowered me and supported me in making changes to make the organization better — and was able to keep morale high during extraordinary challenges. An amazing leader that everyone likes to work for and with.
My path started in the engineering ranks at IAC — writing code, scaling infrastructure, building data systems. From there I grew into product and general management, eventually leading multiple functional disciplines as a Section 16 corporate officer at eHealth, a publicly traded health insurance marketplace where I led 450 people across product, technology, data, engineering, and marketing.
I've done this at companies ranging from scrappy startups — I joined JibJab right after their first venture round and helped them raise two more — to global icons like Disney, Hallmark, and Playboy. The eHealth chapter sits somewhere between those worlds: a mid-market public company with genuine scale, where the breadth of what I owned was closer to a COO than a product leader.
I got my technical foundation at nights and weekends — taking comp sci, algorithms, networking, and systems courses at Santa Monica College while working full-time. I hold a BA in Political Science from USC, which taught me to argue clearly and think in systems. The combination has served me well.
Today I work fractionally with a small number of companies at a time, bringing genuine senior leadership to organizations that need it most — often PE-backed businesses navigating digital transformation, or companies that need to move faster than a traditional executive search allows.
I take on a limited number of engagements at a time to ensure I can show up fully for each client. If you're facing a digital challenge that needs experienced leadership, let's talk.
